A Texas based studio artist who explores the body and health issues through different mediums. She has had work published in Swirl magazine and has participated in exhibitions nationally. She has received several awards, including the ACC Arts Forum Prize for services to the art community. She is currently based in the Houston area furthering her studio practice while focusing on her education career in the Arts.

2017   MFA Studio Art, Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, TX

  •  Area of focus of Ceramics both sculptural and non, Building management, study of Contemporary and Modern Art History, creation and curation of the first exclusively undergraduate show at TAMU-CC, Arduino programming, Printmaking basics, and metal sculpture casting. Awarded SAMC award for Excellence in Ceramics as well as Art Star Volunteer Award. Entry into Phi Kappa Phi as well as Who’s Who Among Colleges.

  • Area of focus of Drawing and Painting with a minor in Art History, charcoal drawing, mixed media, oil painting, plaster casting, mold making, and sculptural ceramics. Nomination and Acceptance into Golden Key International Honour Society.

  •  Area of focus in Art with highlights on Design I and II. Publication of drawing in Swirl Magazine and received transfer scholarship.

  • Instructed and developed content for Art Appreciation courses covering the principles of design and different art mediums and practices. Received Online Teaching Certification.
  • Instructed and designed curriculum for Drawing I and Drawing II courses. Developed syllabi, maintained functional studio, technical demonstrations include: techniques with charcoals, graphite, ink, conte crayon, and colored pencil.

Thesis

“Not for Medical Use” is a Master of Fine Arts thesis that links the histories of art and medical science informed by personal experiences and accounts of chronic illness and disabilities as well as medical research and information.
